Ultimate Copper Canyon Adventure 

9 nights/10 days $2,400 USD per person

Los Mochis – El Fuerte – Bahuchivo Station – Posada Barrancas – Creel – Batopilas -Chihuahua

Your adventure includes: ground transportation, hotel accommodations, first class railway tickets, selected activities, meals, purified water, and bilingual guides, where available.

Day 1 Transfer from Los Mochis airport to the “Pueblo Magico” town of El Fuerte, about an hour away from Los Mochis. Stay the night at a hotel set on the hillside of the Rio Fuerte. A river float tour to bird watch and hike to the Nahautl petroglyphs is included.

Day 2 After breakfast, catch the 7:30 am train to Bahuchivo Station. Enjoy the scenery as the train climbs through the Copper Canyon.

Hint: If you can, sit on the right-hand side, as the views are better. If not, you can walk through the train vestibules or sit in the dining/bar car.

Around 12:30 you will arrive at Bahuchivo Station. Your driver will transport you to Cerrocaui, about 45 minutes from the train.

Take in the scenery of Ponderosa pines and the “Whiney the Pooh” rock.

Check in at Hotel Mission or San Isidro Lodge. Lunch is included.

At Hotel Mission a town tour is included. You will see the Tarahumaran boarding school, the hotel vineyard, and the 300-year-old Jesuit Mission.

If you are at San Isidro Lodge: a driving, or hiking tour is included. You will see the town and the Jesuit Mission de San Fransisco.

Day 3 After breakfast, you will take a tour to see Urique Canyon rim, the deepest canyon in the Copper Canyon system.

Around 11:30 am, you will be transported to the train station for 12:30 departure toPosada Barrancas.

01:00-3:00 pm (train time) Arrival to Posada Barrancas train station, transfers are included to the Hotel Mansion Tarahumara, which is set upon the cliffs of the canyon. Valley view rooms are also available.

A walking tour is included to the nearby cliff dwellings. You are close to local shopping, hiking, gondola rides, and world-class zip lines across the canyons.
Day 4 Second day and night at Hotel Mansion Tarahumara.

Take advantage of hiking tours, visiting cliff dwellings, atv rentals, local shopping, gondola rides across the canyons, or experiencing the world’s longest zip line

Tour to Copper Canyon Adventure park (2 hours)
Horse tour in Posada Barrancas (2 hours)
Walking tour to Cueva Taraumara (1 hour)
Tour to Creel (5 hours)

gondola rides (running until 5pm)

Zip lines (2 hours)

Day 5 Catch the train between 1-3 pm for Creel, arriving around 4:30 pm. Transport is provided to the Quinta Lodge, or similar.  Enjoy the evening and prepare for the early morning (4:30 am) departure the next day.

* This departure time varies upon the road construction times.

Day 6 Depart early, after breakfast to Batopilas. You will pass the Copper Canyon, which is named after the entire chain of canyons, La Bufa, and Tarahumaran villages. The road is being widened to a two-lane road, but the cross backs are not for the faint of heart!

This is an adventure in itself!

When you arrive at Batoplias, take a town tour and see the old Silver Hacienda.

Stay at Hacienda Riverside Lodge.

Day 7 Spend another day in Batopilas. A walking, or driving tour is included to the secret village of Satevo. Visit the Jesuit Mission set in the valley of the canyon.

Second night at Hacienda Riverside Lodge.

Day 8 Depart early from Batopilas. You will have a chance to stop at a Mennonite community, Tarahumaran homes, La Bufa, and Copper Canyon.

Stay the night in Creel at the Quinta Lodge, or similar.

Day 9 After breakfast, be prepared to depart around 9:00 am. Your tour will stop at Bassaseachi waterfall, Mexico’s second largest waterfall. Then you will visit the Mennonite community at Cuauhtemoc. You will arrive by evening to Chihuahua at theHoliday Inn. 

Day 10 Breakfast and transfers included from Holiday Inn to the Chihuahua airport.

Cabo to Copper Canyon Adventure

9 nights/10 days $2,200 USD per person

Cabo – El Fuerte – Bahuchivo – Creel – Posada Barrancas – El Fuerte – Cabo

We provide: domestic flights to/from Cabo, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, selected activities, first class railway tickets, purified water, and bilingual guides, where available.

Day 1 Arrive to Cabo airport and check into the Cabo Pedregal Hotel, conveniently located near the Cabo San Lucas marina. You will be close to the best restaurants, shopping, beaches, and nightlife.

Day 2 Fly from Cabo to the Los Mochis airport, usually around noon.

Stay the night in El Fuerte at a hotel overlooking the Rio Fuerte.

Day 3 Catch the morning train 7:30am to Bahuchivo Station. A taxi will take you to the San Isidro Lodge. This eco-lodge is set in nature above the historic town of Cerrocahui. A walking, or driving tour is included to see the town and 300 yr. old Jesuit Mission.

Day 4 Your morning tour includes a drive to the Urique rim, or Gallego Mountain.

Prepare to catch a late morning train to Creel. You will stop for 15 minutes at Divisadero for local shopping and amazing views. Stay the night at Quinta Lodge, or similar.

Day 5 Second day/ night in Creel. An included four hour day tour will take you to Lake Arareko, San Ignacio Mission, and the Valley of Mushrooms, Monks, and Frogs.

Day 6 catch the late morning train to Posada Barrancas, or the “eye” of the canyons. The hotel sits upon the cliffs, again, you will stop off at Divisadero for 15 minutes before arriving at the Hotel Mansion Tarahumara for the night. A walking tour to nearby cliff dwellings is included.

Day 7 Enjoy your morning at the canyon rim. The train departs to El Fuerte around 1-3 pm (train time). Arrive at El Fuerte around 7:30 pm. A taxi will take you to the hotel for the night.

Day 8 second day and night at the hotel in El Fuerte. Your tour includes a river float adventure on the Rio Fuerte, where you will see a variety of bird and animal life. Hike to the Nahautl petroglyphs and see the city of El Fuerte.

Day 9 Transportation provided to Los Mochis around noon for the flight to Cabo. Stay the night at Cabo Pedregal Hotel.

Day 10 transportation provided to the airport.
